Historic Czech Towns & the Natural Beauty of EuroVelo 7!

Join us on an unforgettable 8 day cycling adventure along EuroVelo 7, taking you through the heart of the Czech Republic — from the Austrian–Czech border all the way to the magical city of Prague. Along the way, you’ll discover charming historic towns and beautiful natural landscapes that impress at every turn.

The journey begins near Bad Leonfelden, then continues through České Budějovice, home of the world-famous Budvar beer, and on to the fairy-tale town of Český Krumlov, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its medieval old town set along the Vltava River.

The route carries on past the impressive Zvíkov Castle, dramatically perched above the meeting point of the Vltava and Otava rivers. You’ll explore towns such as Písek, home to the oldest stone bridge in the country, and Štěchovice, known for its hydroelectric power plant and scenic river meanders.

Throughout the journey, you’ll enjoy constant views of the Vltava River and the Elbe River, rolling countryside, peaceful lakes, picturesque villages, and unspoiled nature seamlessly intertwined with the region’s rich historical heritage.

On average, we’ll ride 80 km per day with 788 meters of elevation gain — a perfectly balanced pace for relaxed yet rewarding cycling days.

Day 1

Welcome to Austria!

Your cycling adventure begins in Austria — and we’ll make sure everything is smooth, simple, and stress-free from the moment you arrive. We’ll pick you up at Vienna Airport at 12:00 PM, then head straight into the city, where our hotel will be waiting for us.

Once we check in, you’ll have time to get everything ready for the days ahead — bike setup, gear checks, and final adjustments — so you feel fully dialed in and prepared.

In the afternoon, you’ll have free time to explore Vienna and the surrounding area at a relaxed pace, enjoy the town atmosphere, and settle in before the riding begins.

In the evening, we’ll come together for a group dinner, the perfect chance to get to know each other, enjoy great local food, and kick off the trip the right way.

Day 2 - Cycling from Bad Leonfelden to Češke Budejovice

First Pedals Along the Vltava!

After breakfast, we set off on a 200-km transfer to Bad Leonfelden, where our cycling adventure along the Vltava River officially begins.

The route leads us through the scenic Vyšebrodské hory Nature Park, where quiet roads and untouched landscapes set a calm, welcoming rhythm. From there, we roll toward the charming medieval town of Rožmberk nad Vltavou, dominated by its stunning castle rising high above the river — one of the most photogenic spots of the entire journey.

We continue through the picturesque villages of Nahorany and Plešivec, riding along the edge of the protected Blanský les Protected Landscape Area, before reaching České Budějovice, where we wrap up our first cycling day.

After arrival, we check into a comfortable hotel in the city center — time to relax, freshen up, and enjoy the laid-back Bohemian atmosphere. We end the day the right way: with a true Czech culinary experience, dinner at one of the traditional beer halls in town. Great local food, world-class Czech beer, and a warm, lively atmosphere make for a perfect finish to day one.

One last day!

Our final day on the bike begins with a generous breakfast — fuel for one last ride on two wheels. Once again, we follow the Elbe River, riding along the smooth and scenic EuroVelo 7, also known as the “Sun Route,” which connects northern Europe with the Mediterranean south.

Along the way, we stop in Ústí nad Labem, an important industrial and university hub dramatically set within the steep walls of the Elbe canyon. What makes the city especially striking is its location — rising above it is a rugged hill crowned by the ruins of Střekov Castle, offering sweeping views over the river and surrounding landscape.

After a short break, we continue north, edging closer to the Czech–German border. The scenery becomes increasingly dramatic as we enter the heart of Bohemian Switzerland National Park, where sandstone cliffs, deep forests, and winding river views define the landscape.

Our journey comes to a close in the small village of Mezná, located just steps away from the iconic Pravčická Gate. Here, a comfortable hotel awaits.
