A Cycling Adventure Across the Dalmatian Islands!

Discover the hidden gems of Croatia’s Dalmatian islands on a one-of-a-kind cycling trip that takes you through charming seaside villages, stunning coastal roads, and breathtaking natural landscapes. The journey starts in Split, where you’ll hop on a ferry to the island of Korčula. That’s where your first ride begins—rolling through olive groves and vineyards, with incredible views of the Adriatic Sea around every turn.

From there, we’ll continue across the Pelješac Peninsula, catch the ferry from Ploče, explore the island of Hvar, and ride all the way up to Vidova Gora—the highest peak on any Adriatic island—where you’ll be rewarded with truly unforgettable panoramic views.

We’ll wrap up the trip in Makarska with the legendary climb up Sveti Jure (1,700 m), one of the most iconic cycling ascents in the region and an absolute must for any rider who loves a proper challenge.

On this trip, you’ll ride an average of 101 km and 1742 meters of elevation gain per day.

Day 1

Hello Croatia!

Your cycling adventure begins at Split Airport, where we meet at 12:00 PM and kick things off together. From there, we head into the heart of Split, where the real island-hopping magic starts — we board the ferry and cruise across the Adriatic toward the stunning island of Korčula.

After a scenic ferry ride, we arrive in Vela Luka, a charming coastal town on the western side of the island. Once we check into our hotel, you’ll have time to unpack, relax, and get settled in.

In the afternoon, we’ll get everything ready for the days ahead — bike setup, quick equipment checks, and final adjustments — making sure your ride is perfectly dialed in for the first tour. The vibe today is all about a smooth arrival, a relaxed start, and that first taste of the Dalmatian island atmosphere.

⭐ Today’s Must-See Highlights

  • Vela Luka – A laid-back seaside town known for its beautiful bay, relaxed local vibe, and unforgettable sunsets. Surrounded by pine-covered hills and crystal-clear water, it’s the perfect place to slow down, recharge, and start your cycling week the right way.
Day 2 - Cycling from Vela Luka to Korčula Town

Your First Taste of Dalmatia!

Today’s route is pure Dalmatian magic: quiet country roads winding through olive groves, past vineyards, and along peaceful stretches of coastline with jaw-dropping views of the crystal-clear Adriatic Sea. Along the way, we pass through the small village of Smokvica, where we’ll take a well-earned break and enjoy the authentic island atmosphere.

Before reaching Korčula’s famous old town, we finish with an exciting descent — the kind that puts a big grin on your face and reminds you why road cycling in Croatia is so special.

Once we arrive in Korčula Town, we’ll take time to explore its narrow stone streets, admire the historic architecture, and treat ourselves to some incredible local food and flavors.

In the afternoon, we hop back on the ferry and head toward the Pelješac Peninsula, landing in Orebić, where we check into our hotel and wrap up the day with a delicious dinner included in the price — the perfect finish to an unforgettable first day on the road.

  • Korčula Town (79.5 km) – Often called “Little Dubrovnik,” Korčula is one of the most beautiful historic towns on the Adriatic. Think medieval walls, palm-lined waterfront views, and a maze of stone alleyways packed with charm, cafés, and local energy — the perfect reward at the end of your first island ride.

Day 3 - Cycling from Orebič to Drvenik

Pelješac at Its Best!

Our second day in the saddle takes us across the stunning Pelješac Peninsula — a true hidden gem for road cycling, packed with quiet roads, sea views, and that laid-back Dalmatian rhythm. One of today’s highlights is a stop in Ston, a medieval town famous for its impressive stone walls — often considered one of the most remarkable fortification systems in Europe.

From there, we continue riding toward the mainland before turning back and following the coastline. The route takes us past Neum, the only coastal town in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

As we roll on, we pass through Ploče, where there’s a chance to pick up fresh local Neretva River mandarins — a sweet and refreshing snack that’s famous in this region.

By the time we arrive at our accommodation in Zaostrog, you’ll be rewarded with one of the best views of the day — from your room, you can already see the southern edge of Hvar, the island that’s waiting for us next. We wrap up the day with a delicious dinner, great Mediterranean flavors, and the kind of relaxed atmosphere that makes this trip feel like more than just a cycling tour.

⭐ Today’s Must-See Highlights

Day 4 - Cycling from Sučuraj to Vrboska

A Full-Day Ride Across the Island!

We kick off day three with an energizing breakfast, then head to the ferry in the morning for a scenic crossing to Sućuraj, on the eastern tip of Hvar Island. Once we arrive, it’s time to clip in — today’s ride is long, varied, and incredibly rewarding as we cycle all the way across the island from one side to the other.

Along the way, you’ll experience the full range of Hvar’s landscapes — quiet roads, open views, coastal stretches, and that classic Mediterranean feel that makes every kilometer a pleasure.

Our main stop is the iconic Town of Hvar, the perfect place to take a break by the sea, grab a coffee, and enjoy the lively atmosphere on the waterfront. After recharging, we continue the ride back via Stari Grad, then head toward the postcard-perfect village of Vrboska, where we check into our hotel and have time to explore the area at a relaxed pace.

We finish the day the best way possible: a delicious Mediterranean dinner, great company, and that satisfied feeling you only get after a big day on the bike.

Day 5 - Cycling from Bol to Sumartin

Peak Views & Epic Descents!

Day four starts with a delicious breakfast, then we board the ferry and head to the beautiful seaside town of Bol on the island of Brač. And just so you know — today doesn’t ease you in. Right from the start, we’ll test our legs with the first climbs as we ride toward the northern side of the island.

After that, we settle into a stunning 35 km coastal stretch, with classic Adriatic views and smooth island roads that make every pedal stroke feel worth it. Then it’s time to head inland — straight into the heart of Brač — where the real challenge begins: the climb to Vidova Gora, the highest peak on any Adriatic island.

We’re looking at around 700 meters of elevation gain, but the reward is huge. At the top, you’ll be treated to an unforgettable 360-degree panoramic view over the islands and the coastline — the kind of moment that makes you stop, breathe it all in, and take way too many photos (in the best way).

And just when you think the day can’t get better… it does. We finish with an absolute dream: 35 km of non-stop descending all the way down to Sumartin, where we hop on the ferry to Makarska. Once we arrive, we check in, kick back, and enjoy a well-earned rest — followed by a great dinner to wrap up an epic day on the bike.

Day 6 - Cycling on St. Jure Peak

The Ultimate Adriatic Climb!

It’s our final day — D-Day. Today we take on the biggest challenge of the entire trip: the highest peak on the Adriatic coast. The climb to St. Jure is one of the most iconic rides in the region, and for good reason.

Starting right from the coastline, we begin the steady ascent and gain a massive 1,762 meters of elevation. Over the course of roughly 30 km of climbing, the views keep getting bigger, the air gets cooler, and the feeling of achievement builds with every switchback.

At the top, we reach the summit and are rewarded with an unforgettable panoramic view stretching far into the distance — a true “once-in-a-lifetime” cycling moment. After soaking it all in, we descend the same route back to the hotel, where a well-earned final evening awaits. We wrap up the week the best way possible: with great food, a celebratory drink, and a proper end-of-tour atmosphere.

⭐ Today’s Must-See Highlights

  • St. Jure (31 km) – The highest paved climb in Croatia and the crown jewel of Biokovo. A legendary ascent rising straight from the sea, with epic switchbacks, dramatic scenery, and a summit view that makes every pedal stroke worth it.
