A Cycling Adventure Across the Dalmatian Islands!

Discover the hidden gems of Croatia’s Dalmatian islands on a one-of-a-kind cycling trip that takes you through charming seaside villages, stunning coastal roads, and breathtaking natural landscapes. The journey starts in Split, where you’ll hop on a ferry to the island of Korčula. That’s where your first ride begins—rolling through olive groves and vineyards, with incredible views of the Adriatic Sea around every turn.

From there, we’ll continue across the Pelješac Peninsula, catch the ferry from Ploče, explore the island of Hvar, and ride all the way up to Vidova Gora—the highest peak on any Adriatic island—where you’ll be rewarded with truly unforgettable panoramic views.

We’ll wrap up the trip in Makarska with the legendary climb up Sveti Jure (1,700 m), one of the most iconic cycling ascents in the region and an absolute must for any rider who loves a proper challenge.

On this trip, you’ll ride an average of 49 km and 572 meters of elevation gain per day.

Day 1

Welcome to Dubrovnik!

Your cycling adventure begins at the airport — and we’ve got everything organized to make your arrival smooth and stress-free. We offer scheduled transfers from: Zagreb Airport – 7:00 AM, Split Airport – 11:00 AM or Dubrovnik Airport – 3:00 PM

From there, we head straight into the heart of Dubrovnik, check into our hotel, and get settled in for the week ahead.

In the afternoon, we’ll take care of everything you need for cycling — bike setup, gear checks, and final adjustments — so you’re fully ready for the days to come. Once everything is dialed in, we’ll head into Dubrovnik’s Old Town, where you’ll have time to wander through the historic stone streets, take in the atmosphere, and experience one of the most iconic coastal cities in Europe.

⭐ Today’s Must-See Highlights

  • Dubrovnik – Known as the “Pearl of the Adriatic,” Dubrovnik is famous for its stunning medieval walls, limestone streets, and breathtaking sea views. It’s a city packed with history, charm, and unforgettable Mediterranean energy.
Day 2 - Cycling from Mostar to Mt. Velež and back

Mostar Warm-Up Ride!

After breakfast, we load up all the bikes and gear into the support vehicles and head out on a transfer to Mostar — one of the most iconic cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Famous for its mix of cultures, stunning river views, and rich history, Mostar is the perfect place to begin our journey.

Once we arrive and check into the hotel, we unload the bikes and get ready for our first ride. We’ll start with an easy spin through the city before heading up toward the plateau beneath Mount Velež. The climb is totally worth it — at the viewpoint, you’ll be rewarded with incredible panoramic views over Mostar and the surrounding landscape.

After the ride, the rest of the afternoon is yours to enjoy. Take a relaxed walk through the city, visit the legendary Old Bridge (Stari Most), and of course — treat yourself to a plate of authentic Bosnian ćevapi (because you’ve earned it).

⭐ Today’s Must-See Highlights

  • Mostar Old Town (30.2 km) – A lively and historic riverside district filled with cobblestone streets, traditional stone houses, local markets, and incredible viewpoints. The atmosphere around Stari Most is unforgettable — a true blend of history, culture, and Balkan energy.

Day 3 - Cycling from Mostar to Gnjilišta

A Scenic Ride Through Herzegovina!

After a hotel breakfast, we load your luggage into the support vehicle — and it’s time to ride. Today’s route is packed with natural beauty, river views, and some of the most unique cultural landmarks in Herzegovina.

Our first stop is the famous Buna River Spring in Blagaj. Locals love to say it’s the biggest spring in Europe — which might be a tiny exaggeration 😄 — but one thing is absolutely true: it’s stunning. The turquoise water, the dramatic cliffside, and the peaceful atmosphere make it a must-see and the perfect place for a short break and photos.

From Blagaj, we return to the old railway route and continue cycling along the Neretva River toward Čapljina. Before reaching our final destination, we make a stop in Počitelj, a beautiful historic town built into the hillside. Its walled old town is a protected national monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

We finish the ride at our hotel, located right next to Hutovo Blato Nature Park — a peaceful area known for its wetlands, wildlife, and relaxed countryside vibe. After cycling, you’ll have the option to join an afternoon trip to the Kravice Waterfalls or visit Međugorje, one of the region’s most famous pilgrimage sites.

⭐ Today’s Must-See Highlights

  • Buna River Spring (13.1 km) – One of the most beautiful natural sights in Herzegovina, with crystal-clear turquoise water flowing straight out of a dramatic cliff.
  • Počitelj Walls (47 km) – A historic fortified town with stone streets, traditional architecture, and incredible views.
  • Optional Afternoon Trip – Kravice Waterfalls , or Međugorje for a meaningful cultural and spiritual experience.

Day 4 - Cycling from Gnjilišta to Ravno

Welcome to the Ćiro Line Experience!

After a hotel breakfast, we load the luggage into the support vehicle — and it’s time to ride. Today’s destination is something truly special: a beautiful hotel set inside a former railway station on the historic Ćiro Line, located in the tiny village of Ravno.

On the way, we cycle past the stunning wetlands of Hutovo Blato Nature Park, then continue through a remote and lightly populated area where the landscape feels wild and untouched. You’ll notice warning signs that say “Caution: Mines” — but don’t worry: our route is carefully checked, approved, and completely safe.

This stage is where the adventure really kicks in. Most of today’s route is not paved, following the original railway track through the countryside. One of the coolest parts? We ride through several old Ćiro railway tunnels — and they’re not lit, which makes the experience even more unique. We highly recommend bringing a bike light for this section.

Since Ravno is a small place truly “in the middle of nowhere,” the afternoon is perfect for an optional visit to Vjetrenica Cave, the largest cave system in Bosnia and Herzegovina — a fascinating underground world filled with incredible rock formations and a refreshing cool temperature.

⭐ Today’s Must-See Highlights

  • Vjetrenica Cave (57.6 km) – The largest cave in Bosnia and Herzegovina and one of the most impressive natural wonders in the region.

Day 5 - Cycling from Ravno to Dubrovnik

Final Ride to Dubrovnik!

After breakfast, it’s time for the final stage of our Ćiro Trail cycling journey — with the finish line waiting on the outskirts of Dubrovnik.

Today’s ride follows the route of the old railway line, a narrow paved path that’s been shaped by time and nature, giving it a raw, authentic feel. We stay on this historic track all the way to the border crossing, where we leave Bosnia and Herzegovina behind and enter Croatia.

From there, it’s a fun descent down to a truly unique natural sight: the Ombla River, often considered one of the shortest rivers in Europe. Its freshwater flow runs for only about 30 meters before it pours straight into the Adriatic Sea — a perfect and symbolic finish for our journey along the Ćiro railway route.

After the ride, we check into our hotel, take some time to freshen up, and head out for an afternoon trip into Dubrovnik, followed by dinner at a local restaurant — the perfect way to celebrate the end of an unforgettable cycling adventure.

Day 6

The end!

After a final breakfast, we say goodbye to the Dubrovnik. We travel together toward Dubrovnik airpot, arriving comfortably around 10:00 AM. The drive is a chance to share last impressions, stories from the rides, and a quiet smile at how quickly the week has passed.

At the airport, we say our goodbyes as you continue your journey — richer for an experience that revealed the authentic, green, and cyclist-friendly side of Croatia. And who knows — perhaps we’ll meet again next year on a new cycling adventure.

3. The Cycling Trip Experience

3.1 What’s the difference between Self-Guided, Supported, and Supported & Guided trips?

Self-Guided: We take care of logistics (hotels, airport transfers, luggage transport), while you ride independently.

It depends on the trip. Daily distances are listed in the itinerary. You can shorten a stage using the support vehicle or extend it with an optional climb or loop.
